Assistants

The assistants on our list are not hired through PPR, they are independent freelance assistants. PPR can not account for their experience or level of knowledge. Their listing on our site is by recommendation of photographers who have employed them in the past. To help narrow down the choices, we have attempted to categorize them; Digital Technician, Lead Assistant, Working Assistant, and Emerging Assistant.

Digital Technicians

Digital Technicians possess a good working knowledge of photography and equipment, including medium format cameras, studio strobe lighting, meters, and Mac OS X. They are capable of operating and trouble shooting digital backs, managing workflow and file processing.

First Assistants are experienced professionals with a good working knowledge of photography and equipment. Experience with studio lighting, DSLR’s and assignment logistics.

Working Assistants have experience but are not as proficient as 1st Assistants, competent, but not in all areas. Solid 2nd assistants or 1st for many photographers.
