Info for New Renters
Please be advised that it takes a minimum of 24 hours to process and approve a new renter's application.
Welcome to Professional Photo Resources, the South's premier photo and lighting specialists. We rent a wide variety of photo, lighting, and grip equipment for every need. Before you rent, here are the answers to a few questions you might have.
A rental application form has to be on file before any equipment can be reserved. Since it takes 24 hours to process a registration for a new renter, the form must be submitted at least a day in advance. We can not accept registrations on a walk-in basis.
We require a deposit on all rental equipment. The deposits, as well as the rental pricing, are listed on our equipment rental page of our web site. The deposit can be left in one of three forms:
A credit card preauthorization. This puts a credit hold equal to the deposit on your credit card. Please note, this can only be done with a credit card, not a check or debit card, due to banking regulations. If you choose this method, please check with your bank in advance to make sure you have available credit for this. Your bank will release the credit hold, not PPR after the merchandise is returned. Please check with your bank to see how they handle this, your credit could be tied up for a full billing cycle, depending on your credit provider.
A local Georgia check. This can be used for any rental whose deposit value is less than $10,000. You simply write us a check for the amount of the deposit. We hold the check until you return the merchandise. This is by far the easiest method, and the method used by the majority of our customers. Please note, the check must be in the name of the person whose name is on the registration. We cannot accept "counter" or "starter" checks for either
deposits or to pay for rentals.
A Certificate of Insurance. This is a policy issued by your insurance company insuring PPR against loss or damage to our rental equipment. Check with your insurance carrier to see if they offer this service. You will need a business policy in order to obtain this, if you have homeowner's or renter's insurance you'll have to use one of the other deposit methods. If you do not have business insurance, you can check with your insurer, or check out links page for insurers who specialize in photographers. Click here for a PDF sample of a certificate of insurance.
Our rentals are for a 24-hour period. If you keep merchandise longer, you may incur additional charges. We do offer a special weekend rate,at a special one day rate, for rentals starting after 2:00pm Friday and returned by 10:00am the following Monday. Rentals returned after 10:00am will incurr additional charges. We also offer weekly rentals, at either three or four times the daily rate, depending on the item. All other rentals are on a full day basis.
